 It's tough to ignore what others say about our person, behaviors, and or choices we make. Don Miguel Ruiz teaches us to stand in our own truth by understanding that people do and say things because of themselves, NOT US! You are responsible for your own thoughs and actions whether or not others feel the way you do. 

Sympathy and Empathy seems like the same thing right? Although both words sounds like, they have different meaning. Sympathy is the feelings of pity and sorrow for someone else's misfortune. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. 

 

Brene Brown, PhD, does a wonderful job of explaining the difference between sympathy and empathy to aid us in learning how we can connect with others.
